Bridge to Employment in Public Schools for Internationally Trained Teachers

Funded by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities Access to Professions and Trades Unit, this program includes four partners in Ottawa and Toronto. 
The partners are:

• The Ontario College of Teachers,

• Skills for Change,

• LASI World Skills and

• The Ontario Teacher’s Federation. 

This bridging program will provide clearer and more accessible information to Internationally Trained Teachers (ITTs) – both abroad and in Ontario - who want to teach in Public Schools.
 
The project is aimed at

• Providing accurate information for teachers who are already in Ontario and for those who are in other countries with intention of immigrating to Ontario.

• Enhancement of employability through sector-specific language courses and a 6-week orientation to the cultural
  and professional environment in Ontario classrooms.

• Retention of IETs in Ontario schools.
